With the sides and ends of the wooden toolbox fashioned, we'll create the dovetailsthat will connect the four sides of the box together. You can cut the tails on either the sides or the end pieces based on whichever you believe will look better.

Set up your router with a dovetail bit and configure your dovetail jig to cut the tails in either the side or end pieces of the toolbox.

Once the tails have been cut, change your router to a straight-cutting bit. Reconfigure your dovetail jig and cut the pins in the remaining pieces. Be certain to cut the pins for a tight fit, as you can always cut a little bit more off of the pins if the fit is too tight.

Dry fit the four sides of the toolbox together to ensure proper connections. Mark the insides of each of the four side/end pieces, then disassemble the sides to prepare for the next step.
