After the glue on the four trim blocks has dried, remove the clamps and place the unit face up on your woodworking table. We'll be attaching the top and bottom trim pieces to the frame.

Lay one of the two trim pieces on the top of the frame, with the cove edges toward the center of the frame. The back of the trim piece should be even with the back of the frame, and the sides should be evenly spaced on each side.

Once the trim board is positioned properly, attach it with some glue and finish nails (or preferably, with a pneumatic finish nailer). Be certain to attach the trim board to not only the rail and stiles of the frame, but also put a couple of nails into the trim blocks (to help hold them in place as well). Wipe off any glue that escapes from the joint immediately with a clean, damp cloth. Fill the nail holes with wood filler and sand the filler flush with the stock once it has cured properly.

Before you begin finishing the project, remember to cut the 1/4" plywood backer to hold the mirror in place. Cut the plywood to a finished size of 18" x 62", as this will give you 1" of space around the entire mirror for attaching it to the frame. Sand the plywood thoroughly and set it aside.
