Now that all of the pieces of stock have been cut to size, we'll move on to cutting some of the decorative profiles on the stock. In this step, we'll route a cove profile onto the three sides of the top and bottom trim pieces of the tall oak mirror woodworking project.

Set up your router with a 1/2" radius cove bit equipped with a bearing on the tip, and place the router into your router table. Adjust the depth of the router and run a test piece to ensure that you have the desired depth of cut.

Place one of the two 2-1/8" wide strips flat on the table and route the cove profile on the two ends and one side of the edge flat against the table (as shown in the drawing on page 4 of the Free Woodworking Plans). Repeat on the other trim piece.
