With the curved cuts completed, we'll next work on the top and lid of the unit. Set your table saw or radial arm saw to cut a 7-1/2" bevel and adjust your fence so that the short side of the bevel rip will be 2" wide. Rip one of the two 9-3/4" pieces of 1x6 on one long edge only, to form the fixed portion of the top of the plastic bag saver.

Next, grab the other 9-1/4" 1x6, and adjust the fence to 5" from the blade. Run one long edge of this 1x6 through the saw at its present 7-1/2" bevel. After completing the cut, place the board on your table so that the short-face (based upon the bevel) is face-down, and measure 4-1/4" across the board (perpendicular to the beveled edge).

Then, switch the saw's bevel to 15-degrees. Adjust the fence so that the top edge of the 15-degree beveled cut will be on the mark you just made on the top of the board. When the fence is set, run the board through the saw to create the 15-degree bevel opposite the 7-1/2" beveled side.
