Turn the plywood base of the jointer jig over and insert the two bolts through the newly created 1/2" bolt holes. Using your pencil, mark the edges of the heads of the carriage bolts.

Remove the bolts, and using a 1/2" bevel-edged chisel, remove enough material to completely recess the bolt heads into the plywood base.
