Cutting the Ironing Board Parts (Optional)

Should you choose to build the optional ironing board attachment for the sewing or craft storage center, we'll cut the parts as shown on page 6 of the free woodworking plans you downloaded in Step 1. You'll need one additional sheet of 3/4" sanded plywood for these parts.

Begin by cutting the following pieces:

1 @ 13-1/2" x 53"
2 @ 12" x 18"
1 @ 12" x 16"
2 @ 1-1/2" x 12"
1 @ 3" x 3"
Next, refer to page 7 of the free woodworking plans to shape the 13-1/2" x 53" piece you just cut into the ironing board. Use a compass and a jigsaw or band saw to mark and cut the curved tip of the board.

Finally, cut out the center section of the two 12" x 18" as shown on page 8. This recess in each piece will allow the ironing board's leg to lie flat when it is stored.
