Now that the entire unit is sturdy and solid, we'll insert and nail in the shelf dividers.

Measure the entire width of each shelf, making marks at the 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 points of the entire length. For instance, on the 71-1/2" shelves in our demo unit, the marks will be at 17-7/8", 35-3/4" and 53-5/8" from one end of the shelf. These marks will be the position of the centers of each divider.

Insert one 13" x 24" divider between the bottom shelf and the floor, centered on the first mark. Position it perpendicular to the shelf using your framing square and nail it into place through the top of the shelf, down into the divider. Use three or four nails through the shelf into the divider. Repeat with the other two dividers beneath the bottom shelf in the same manner.

Continue on to the dividers between the bottom and second shelf. Nail down through the second shelf into the divider, and then toe-nail the bottom of the divider in place with a couple of diagonally placed nails through the bottom of the divider into the shelf below. Continue with this process until all 18 dividers have been attached to the shelf above and the shelf below.
