With the jig secure, the next step is to scribe a center line down the length of the jig. This center line will help mark the location of a pin around which the stock being cut will turn.

On the side of the jig touching the band saw's blade, measure the distance from one edge of the jig to the center of the blade. Mark this location with a pencil mark. Then make a similar mark four feet away on the opposite end of the jig's table.

Now, with a straight-edge, scribe a pencil line between these two marks.
