The Bottom Line
If there is one axiom that applies to all woodworkers, it is that we can never have enough clamps. For those woodworkers, we suggest checking out the Irwin Quick Grip woodworking clamps.

While the handle section is a bit bulky, which would likely prohibit clamping in tight quarters, the one-handed clamping action is ideal for situations where the user needs to hold stock in place with one hand while applying the clamp with the other hand.

The price is comparable to other comparably-sized clamps, and with a range of sizes available (6" to 36"), we'd recommend having at least a few of each size on hand.

Guide Review - Review of Irwin Quick Grip Woodworking Clamps
The Irwin Quick Grip is one of those woodworking tools that once you've used them a few times, you'll wonder how you ever got along without them. The single-handed grip action is quick and easy to use, and the clamp can be removed with one flick of the quick-release lever.

When you first begin to use your Irwin Quick Grip clamps, you'll find them a bit stiff, particularly when opening the clamp for a wider grip. However, this stiffness will quickly dissipate with consistent use.

Switching from clamp to spreader is a very simple procedure: merely slide down the black locking mechanism (on the jaw opposite the clamping handle) and slip the jaw off of the i-beam. Place this jaw on the opposite side of the i-beam and center it over the pin before sliding the locking mechanism back to its locked position and you have turned your one-handed clamp into a spreader! Not many other clamps offer this type of versatility.

With sizes available from 6-inches to 36-inches in length, you'll find an Irwin Quick Grip sized for nearly any woodworking project.
