Definition: A utility knife is an invaluable tool in the wood shop. Not only can this razor-sharp knife be used for cutting almost any thin material, but it can be used for things like cleaning out hinge mortises or scoring before making a cut with a power tool. Look for a model that has a retractable cutter and uses reversible, disposable razor blades.
