Definition: A sliding bevel is a simple hand tool made up of a stainless steel blade, a plastic or wooden handle and a locking mechanism. The blade can be adjusted to any acute or obtuse angle and locked in place, so that the angle can be repeatedly marked on other pieces of stock.
