A framing nailer has become an absolute necessity on the modern carpentry job site. One quality framing nailer can drive a number of nails in the time that a skilled carpenter can drive even one with a hammer. As such, it is a very productive tool.
It can also be a very dangerous tool.

Chris you’re right on abot using a nail gun. Not only is it fast but you can sometimes use it to nail in a tight spot where there is no room to swing a hammer. Back in the 70’s I was a framing carpenter and I was pretty fast at driving 16 penny nails, I tried to be John Henry one day to see if I could compete against a framing gun, I came close but the nailer never ran out of energy like I did.
