Radial-Arm Saw Radial-arm saws are designed with a sturdy metal base onto which a flat, sacrificial wooden surface is attached. The main reason that this surface is built from wood is so that the saw blade won't be damaged when it inevitably comes in contact with the surface.

Since this wood is in place by design, the saw table will occasionally need to be replaced. In this woodworking tip, learn all about How to Replace a Radial-Arm Saw Table, including what type of wood is best to use, and how to adjust the table top to match your saw.
