Bosch 1274DVS Belt Sander Review

Monday June 29, 2009
Bosch 1274DVS Belt Sander Let's face it. Belt sanders probably aren't on the average woodworker's Top Ten list of favorite tools. For that matter, the belt sander might not even make the top 50 for some.

Perhaps the Bosch 1274DVS Belt Sander can change that perception a bit. With a variable speed trigger, effective dust bag and an easy belt changing system, this very well-engineered belt sander is really a pleasure to use. When you add a couple of very useful accessories, this belt sander might become one of the most versatile power tools in your woodshop.

Learn the advantages of this belt sander in the About.com Woodworking Bosch 1274DVS Belt Sander Review. If you click the compare prices link, you'll probably be surprised at how little such a well-built tool will cost, too.

This is a special purpose sander that’s even better than this review indicates. It is light and agile, thus limiting it’s effectiveness when comparing it to a large 4X24 model. That being said, the fact that it has a flat top and can be set belt side up on a bench really sets it apart in the world of belt sanders. It also has a graphite platen under the belt to keep the belt and whatever you’re sanding from overheating and clogging. I have been highly recommending this model since I was first introduced to it and am still impressed each time I use it.
