Bosch P2+R2 Combo Bit Review
Monday June 15, 2009
I've mentioned it before in this space, but I absolutely love it when a tool comes along that makes me say, "I wish I'd thought of that." The Bosch P2+R2 Combo bit is another of those great ideas.
This one single screwdriver bit will drive all three of the most popular non-standard screw head types (Phillips, Square-drive and the combination heads popular on deck screws). Having one single bit that drives all three of the most popular screw heads used in modern woodworking eliminates the need to carry around numerous bits, change the bits constantly or have multiple drills set up to accommodate various screws in a project.
That isn't to say that the Bosch P2+R2 is perfect - there is one specific instance in which I would probably choose another bit. But beyond that, it's a really a great idea, one that performs as well as advertised. Learn all about it in the About.com Woodworking Tool Review of the Bosch P2+R2 Combo Bit.
