Build a Cedar Trellis Seat

Monday April 7, 2008
With Spring on the way, many people's thoughts turn to spending time outdoors, gardening or just sitting outside soaking up the sun with a good book. If you're looking for a woodworking project to kick off the upcoming summer the right way, here's an idea:

Black & Decker has posted a set of free woodworking plans for a Cedar Trellis Seat. This corner trellis seat, made from lattice and cedar boards, is a perfect place to hang out and read a book or have a conversation.

This project is relatively simple, and a beginner with even rudimentary skills should be able to complete the project. The only tools required are a circular saw, drill and palm sander. It might be a perfect father-and-son project for your patio or garden!
