Easy Band Saw Blade Storage

Thursday April 19, 2007
One of the most troublesome issues with having a band saw is how to store the large, unwieldy band saw blades when they're not in use. While it is common to store them on a nail or a peg hook, they can still be in the way, falling off the nail or hook whenever they are bumped or jostled.

There is a simple trick that will allow you to store your band saw blades safely and out of the way, even in a drawer. It takes a little bit of practice to get the hang of it, but is not terribly complicated.

Learn this simple trick in our quick tip on easy band saw blade storage. Once you learn this simple trick, you'll wonder how you ever put up with hanging your band saw blades on a peg hook.

(1) Dave Moran says:

It’s a lot easier, and seems safer after reading the instructions, to step on the bottom, twist your palm away from your body, grab the top and rotate your palm back toward your body while lowering your hand. The blad will form into the 3 loops while closing on it self. Add a twist tie if you wish to secure it.
