A Woodworking Resolution

Monday January 1, 2007
Its that time of year again. Time for everyone to decide that they're going to lose weight, spend more time with family, take the vacation of their dreams, yada, yada, yada. Well, while you're in the resolution setting stage, why not make a goal to improve your skill as a woodworker in 2007? What kind of goal? Well, maybe there's a piece of furniture that you think would look great in a room of your home. Perhaps you're really ambitious and want to build an entire bedroom suite in 2007? Or maybe there's a tool you're dying to buy or a skill you're looking to learn?

Whatever you choose, set a resolution to fulfill that goal in 2007. If you need ideas, be sure to take a look through our Free Woodworking Plans Picture Gallery. If there's a skill you're looking to learn, check out our woodworking Topics on the left side of the page. And if you need further inspiration, take a look through the discussions (or start one of your own) in the About Woodworking Forum. Registration is free!

No matter what it is that you want to accomplish on your woodworking list, be sure to write it down and post it in a place where you'll see it regularly. Maybe a spot on the wall in your shop? Be sure to set a timetable for accomplishing the goal, and even some incremental steps (with deadlines, of course) for making the goal happen.

Making your resolution a reality won't happen by magic, but if you write it down, set a schedule and take the appropriate steps by the deadlines you set, by the end of the year, it will seem as if it DID magically happen!

Happy New Year to all. Here's to a terrific 2007!
